About the Author

Sophie Weider (she/her) is an artist and community climate organizer from Ottawa, Ontario, currently residing in Montreal, Quebec. She is the author and illustrator of two children's books about climate change, "The Girl Who Saved the Tree" (2018) and "Who?" (2021). Sophie recently graduated from the Sustainability, Science, and Society Interfaculty program at McGill University, where she wrote her honours thesis on the role of the arts in facilitating inclusive processes for envisioning a more just and sustainable future. She is now pursuing a career in the climate space and hopes to continue using her creativity and compassion to foster positive change in her community.
